Lung Ching (Dragon Well)
Lung Ching, otherwise known as Lonjing, which directly translates to "Dragon Well", is a variety of green tea grown in the area of Longjing Village in Hangzhou, China. It is mostly produced by hand and has earned the 'China Famous Tea' title for its exceptional quality and unique characteristics.
Lung Ching tea leaves are long and flat with a spectrum of brightly coloured greens with touches of gold. Plucked between March and April, the tea leaves are withered and pan-fried to reduce oxidation and retain the bright colour. The pan-frying is what causes the leaves to fold in lengthways, creating Lung Ching's distinct shape.
Once brewed you will be able to see the full leaves uncurl and release their flavour. Lung Ching lends a softly sweet and mellow taste with a crisp finish.
